About The Role

The role of HE Lecturer in Computer Science and Cyber Security at University Centre (UC) Leeds involves planning, delivering, and assessing the curriculum for our students. The ideal candidate should possess essential knowledge of the Cyber Security industry and be capable of effectively delivering this content to learners.

The curriculum at UC Leeds is vocational, diverse, and designed to meet industry needs. The institution holds Degree Awarding Powers and currently enrolls over 1300 students across various courses.

Our STEM department offers a range of Foundation degrees, Top-Ups in Digital, Computing, and Science, Masters programs in Science, HNC/Ds in Engineering, and apprenticeships. UC Leeds is recognized as a leading provider of digital skills education, supporting graduates' employment prospects.

Potential Market Supplement: Up to £3,000 per annum, subject to demonstrating substantial experience.

What You Will Do
  1. Plan, prepare, and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, and assessment plans.
  2. Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
  3. Maintain and update knowledge of the subject and vocational area.
  4. Adapt curriculum delivery methods to maximize effectiveness, including the use of technology.
  5. Apply theoretical understanding of effective teaching, learning, and assessment practices, drawing on research and evidence.
About You
  1. Holds a Level 5 Teaching Qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, PGCE).
  2. Possesses a relevant highest-level vocational qualification or degree in the teaching subject.
  3. Has recent teaching experience in relevant subject areas, including PGCE placements or similar.
  4. Knowledge of current teaching practices and experience using diverse teaching methods to enhance learner progression.
  5. Knowledge of Privilege Escalation and Kill-Chain Cyber Attack frameworks.
  6. Experience with tools, methods, and techniques used in cyber investigation processes.
