Abbey Gardens School is seeking a KS3 Maths and Computing Teacher in Bury St Edmunds, IP32 6SA. Hours: 37.5 per week, Mon–Fri. Salary: £39,000 per annum. Contract: Permanent; Start: January 2027. UK applicants only – no sponsorship available.

You will deliver engaging KS3 Maths and Computing lessons, adapt learning to EHCP outcomes, and support students across GCSE and Functional Skills programmes. A Qualified Teacher Status and SEN experience are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Maths and/or Computing or supporting learning within these subjects.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience within an SEN, specialist or alternative provision setting.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths and Computing Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful difference to students' lives. You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels supported to achieve their potential. You will deliver creative and differentiated Maths and Computing lessons that make learning accessible, relevant and rewarding, helping students connect classroom learning to real-life outcomes, independence and future opportunities.

As part of a collaborative team, you will work closely with colleagues, support staff and families to ensure students receive the guidance and encouragement they need to thrive both academically and personally.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Maths and Computing lessons across KS3
• Adapting learning to meet EHCP outcomes and individual learning needs.
• Teaching a range of qualifications and skills, including Functional Skills, Entry Level and GCSE programmes.

About You

You are a patient, adaptable and enthusiastic teacher who believes every student can succeed with the right support and encouragement. You have a genuine passion for Maths and Computing and are skilled at making learning engaging, accessible and relevant for students with a wide range of needs.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience teaching Maths and/or Computing or supporting learning within these subjects.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience within an SEN, specialist or alternative provision setting.
• Experience delivering Functional Skills, Entry Level, GCSE or other accredited qualifications.
• Knowledge of EHCPs and preparation for adulthood outcomes.
