Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking a Core Subject Tutor to provide personalised learning support across Leeds and surrounding areas. Sessions may occur face-to-face in home, in school, or in community spaces, with hours flexible to fit your availability.

The role focuses on strong subject expertise, supportive tutoring, and improving students’ academic goals while also considering their mental wellbeing. Prior tutoring experience and a QTS-like qualification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in one or more academic subjects (e.g., Math, Science, English).
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to teach in a clear, engaging, and student-centered manner.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in person.
• Build strong relationships with hard-to-reach pupils.
• Be supportive, understanding, and non-judgemental.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
• Assist with homework, exam preparation, and skill development.
• Track and report student progress to parents and/or teachers.
• Create a safe, positive, engaging, and motivating learning environment.
