Job summary

Longdean School in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a proactive HLTA to lead KS3 intervention programmes in Maths and English, delivering targeted catch-up support within a dedicated intervention classroom.

You will work with KS3 Leads and the SEND team to monitor progress, adapt strategies, and ensure vulnerable learners stay on track for age-related expectations. A commitment to inclusive education is essential.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or working towards accreditation.
• Experience supporting KS3 Maths/English learners.
• Knowledge of evidence-based catch-up/intervention strategies.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building across departments (Maths, English, SEND).
• Commitment to supporting students with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver short-term, high-impact intervention for KS3 Maths/English.
• Lead targeted catch-up in your dedicated intervention classroom.
• Collaborate with KS3 leads and SEND to align provision.
• Track progress and adapt groups based on evidence of impact.
• Work as part of a wider school team, not in isolation.
