About the Role

GSL Education is supporting an SEND school in EXETER (EX4) that is seeking Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join their team on a full-time basis.

The school offers a personalized wrap-around education for students with complex needs or EHCP pupils at risk of residential placements. Each child receives high levels of support, often including one-to-one assistance and bespoke timetables based on thematic learning experiences designed to engage students, build resilience, and promote academic progress.

The school has multiple settings, and we are looking for candidates willing to work across KS3-4.

Note: These roles are challenging; students may exhibit challenging behaviour, so resilience and commitment are essential.

Requirements

• Clean UK driving license and own car (to be used for business purposes)
• Availability to start ASAP on a full-time basis
• Effective communication skills
• Patience, empathy, flexibility, and adaptability

Responsibilities

• Guide students as a Learning Mentor, providing personalized guidance and support
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop support plans

• Assist with daily tasks, academic activities, and implement interventions to address behaviour challenges and promote positive outcomes
