Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking a committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 class at a friendly primary school in Kendal.

This role focuses on delivering targeted intervention sessions, supporting lesson delivery and classroom organisation, and helping pupils with varying learning needs to progress towards secondary education.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience working in Key Stage 2 settings is preferred.
• Strong behaviour management skills required.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Flexible and proactive approach to support.

Responsibilities

KS2 Teaching Assistant (Year 6) - Level 2 Kendal | Full Time | Immediate Start

Veritas Education is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 class at a friendly and supportive primary school in Kendal.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with pupils during an important stage of their primary education, helping them prepare for the transition to secondary school.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils within a Year 6 classroom
• Delivering targeted intervention sessions and small group support
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom organisation
• Supporting pupils with varying learning needs
• Contributing to a positive and engaging learning environment

Working Hours:

• 27.5 hours per week
• Monday to Friday
• 8:45am - 12:00pm
• 1:00pm - 3:15pm

Additional Hours Available:

The school would ideally welcome candidates who are able to undertake lunchtime supervision, increasing the role to approximately 30 hours per week.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Previous experience working within Key Stage 2
• Strong behaviour management skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A flexible and proactive approach
