Job summary

Academics is recruiting a KS2 Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Princes Risborough, starting after October half term 2026. The role involves general classroom support across KS2 and dedicated SEN assistance, with a mix of one-to-one and small-group work.

Ideal candidates will have experience with children, strong communication, and a proactive approach to helping pupils reach their potential. The position is term-time, five days a week, with hours aligned to the school day.

• Experience working with children in a school or similar setting, and a genuine passion for education and willingness to learn.
• A patient, adaptable and supportive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide general classroom support to KS2 pupils to aid engagement and progress.
• Support pupils with SEN in line with individual needs within the classroom.
• Deliver one-to-one assistance and small-group interventions where required.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence, communication and social skills.
• Support implementation of learning targets and EHCP outcomes where appropriate.
• Encourage positive behaviour and support pupils' emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet pupils' needs.
