Job summary

The Education Specialists in Oldham are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil with additional needs in a primary school setting. The role is to start as soon as checks are completed and requires commitment to a Monday to Friday schedule 8:30am to 3:30pm.

You will work closely with the class teacher, promote independence, support small groups, and implement behaviour strategies while safeguarding and supporting SEN pupils. DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant qualification and/or significant experience in schools.
• Experience working with and supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
• Ability to work in a team and support teachers and other TAs.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to complete set tasks within the classroom.
• Promote independence within the school environment.
• Support small groups under direction of the teacher.
• Implement behaviour strategies.
• Work with teachers and other TAs to provide a stable learning environment.
• Support SEN pupils.
• Supervise activities with the pupils.
