Job summary

Brookside Primary School invites applications for a KS2 Teaching Assistant / Midday Assistant. The role covers KS2 classroom support and midday duties, with term-time only hours and a fixed-term contract to 31 August 2027.

Daily duties include assisting with learning, supporting pupils with SEN, and providing lunchtime supervision. The post is based at Brookside Primary School in Stockport, with duties 8:45am to 1:00pm during term time for the TA role and 5 hours per week for the Midday

Qualifications

• To provide support to the teacher in the KS2 classroom, in an appropriate learning environment
• Assisting with the integration of pupils with special educational needs
• Supporting children within a small group or on an individual basis within the classroom or on a withdrawal basis
• To be an integral part of the school, working in close partnership with all staff

Responsibilities

• To support, assist & supervise children in or outside classes under the direction of the teacher
• To participate in the planning process as directed by the teacher
• To provide assistance in the development of learning resources within the school
• To undertake basic first aid duties and attend to sick children
• To provide clerical assistance as necessary e.g. reading records
