Job description

Here is a friendly and supportive primary school dedicated to providing a nurturing learning environment for all students. We are looking for a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to support their Year 3 to Year 6 students, helping them to reach their full potential and achieve success in their studies. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a KS2 Teaching Assistant:
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Support students with their reading, writing, and numeracy development.
  • Help with classroom management, ensuring a positive and focused learning environment.
  • Prepare and organise learning resources and classroom materials.
  • Observe and monitor student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
  • Assist with the implementation of individualised learning plans for students as needed.
  • Support students in building their social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
  • Help with the delivery of interventions and enrichment activities.
Ideal KS2 Teaching Assistant:
  • Experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
  • A passion for helping students succeed and develop confidence as a KS2 Teaching Assistant.
