Part time, TERM TIME ONLY – 11 hours per week

Support Staff Grade 3 - £26,443 to £29,896 pro rata

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to work as a Learning Support Assistant in our Prep School, to support the learning needs of a Year 3 student with an Education and Health Care Plan. You will be part of an outstanding team of staff who currently support students with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities across the whole school.

The role will involve providing in-class support for the student primarily in Maths and English lessons, following Quality First Teaching methods such as multi-sensory learning, adaptation and a high degree of linking to embed understanding. In addition, the successful candidate will deliver specific sessions on a 1:1 basis such as gross and fine motor control development, self esteem interventions and use of emotional scaling, interventions such as Memory Magic to support working memory, precision spelling teaching and maths interventions. These will be monitored and planned by the SENDCo. You will collaborate with colleagues to set and monitor outcomes. The successful candidate will ideally have experience working with young people and in education, alongside an understanding or experience of supporting students with specific learning difficulties and/or ASC, although training is possible for the right candidate.

The role is 11 hours per week, term time only, funded by the Local Authority. Work pattern preferences can be discussed at interview but it is likely the requirement will be mostly mornings. The salary is Grade 3 on the GDST national scale.
