Job summary

East Huntspill Primary Academy is seeking a KS2 Teacher to join a mixed Year 4–6 class on a 0.8 FTE basis, with Monday to Thursday working days. The role is permanent and starts 1 January 2027, delivering high-quality lessons aligned to the National Curriculum and ensuring a warm, inclusive environment.

As part of a supportive trust, you will plan engaging lessons, monitor progress and work closely with colleagues to uphold standards, welfare and student attainment across phonics and numeracy.

Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher with KS2 experience preferred (ECTs encouraged to apply).
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and ability to build effective relationships with colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Plan lessons that meet individual learning needs and promote progress.
  • Create an inclusive, warm classroom where high expectations are balanced with care.
  • Support phonics and numeracy development to build a strong foundation for all students.

About the role

You will be teaching a mixed class made up of year 4, 5 and 6 students. You will be dedicated to ensuring that our children are fully supported to meet and exceed their age related expectations. You will be responsible for creating a vibrant, inclusive classroom where high expectations for achievement are balanced with warmth, ensuring every child builds a confident foundation in phonics and numeracy. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will implement school and Pathway policies while planning lessons that meet individual learning needs and promote the welfare of every student. Your role is essential in shaping academic confidence and delivering on the trust’s ambition of providing a great education for every child.


About you

Ideally, we are looking for a qualified teacher with specific experience in Key Stage 2 who is agile enough to meet the changing needs of the school environment, however ECT are encouraged to apply. You will be an ICT-proficient professional with a strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and the ability to build effective, personable relationships with colleagues across the trust. As a positive role model you will set high standards for punctuality and behavior, providing a safe and stimulating environment where students are encouraged to become caring, responsible citizens.
