Job summary

Academics is a leading national education recruitment agency, specialising in the provision of teachers for Primary schools across Essex. A KS2 Teacher is sought for a 2-form entry school in Castle Point, Benfleet, to start November 2026 on a maternity cover long-term contract.

The role requires QTS, the ability to plan engaging lessons, strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and the skill to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff. Salary ranges £140-£260 per day.

Qualifications

• Have QTS.
• Able to plan and present engaging lessons.
• Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum.
• Recent teaching experience in KS2.
• Specialise in Key Stage Two, or have experience teaching Key Stage 2.
• Be able to build strong, positive, and professional relationships with all children.
• Sound knowledge of age-appropriate assessments.
• Be able to effectively adapt learning to meet the needs of all students.
• Be able to liaise with parents, carers, and the wider community to benefit the child.
• Adhere to and practice exceptional behaviour management in line with school policies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging KS2 lessons in a 2-form-entry setting.
• Ensure coverage of the KS2 curriculum and assess progress against age-appropriate standards.
