Job summary

Desian Education is seeking a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant (SEN Support) in Rainford for a full-time, long-term role. You will support pupils in Key Stage 2, focusing on SEN needs and helping them engage with learning both academically and emotionally.

As part of a friendly school community, you’ll work alongside the class teacher and SENCOs to implement tailored strategies, promote positive behaviour, and contribute to a supportive atmosphere for pupils’ educational journeys.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant in primary settings.
• Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
• Able to work with classroom teachers, SENCOs and parents.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across KS2 with daily learning and development.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce objectives.
• Provide tailored support for pupils with additional needs to access the curriculum.
• Assist with classroom management and resource preparation.
• Encourage positive behaviour and an engaging learning environment.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs and parents where appropriate.
