Job summary

Humly North East is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a welcoming mainstream primary school in South Tyneside, within the school’s specialist SEN Unit. You will work full-time in a 2:1 team to provide tailored support for a KS2 pupil with complex needs.

The role offers long-term temp stability with predictable hours, opportunities to collaborate with therapists and family, and a supportive SEN team within a nurturing school community.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting children with complex SEN (e.g., severe learning difficulties, autism, or physical needs).
• Excellent teamwork and the ability to partner effectively in a 2:1 support setup.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 2:1 team to support a KS2 pupil with complex needs.
• Implement learning activities and sensory plans created by the SENCo and class teacher.
• Assist with personal care, mobility, and communication throughout the school day.
• Create a safe, calm, and structured environment for the pupil's emotional and educational development.
• Collaborate with school staff, therapists, and family members.
