Job summary

Randstad Education in Liverpool is seeking a committed KS2 SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with special educational needs in a mainstream primary class. You will adapt activities, implement IEPs with the SENCO, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers and families to promote inclusion.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of KS2 curriculum requirements and pedagogical approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families.
  • Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Relevant childcare or education-related qualifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with SEN within a KS2 class.
  • Adapt lesson materials and activities to ensure curriculum access.
  • Implement IEPs in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment supporting social and academic development.
  • Monitor progress, record observations, and provide feedback to staff and parents.
  • Support the student with emotional regulation and personal care as required.
