Job summary

Sherdley Primary School, part of St Helens Borough Council, is recruiting a Level 3 Learning Support Assistant mainly for Upper KS2. The role centres on supporting pupils in class, in groups and one-to-one, running intervention programmes and covering classes when a teacher is absent.

The post suits someone with primary experience and some understanding of SEND, and it is part-time at 26.16 hours a week. An enhanced DBS check and a social media check are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a primary school setting.
• Experience working in a team within a school environment.
• Experience of the KS2 curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Support pupil learning in class, in groups or one-to-one.
• Provide class cover in the teacher's absence.
• Provide structured programmes to pupils.
• Deliver appropriate intervention programmes.
• Prepare and maintain teaching resources.
