Job summary

Smile Education is recruiting a Year 6 Intervention Teacher for a welcoming Birmingham primary school (B8). You will teach upper KS2 in small groups, delivering high-quality lessons and targeted support to pupils.

The role is term-time with pay aligned to the national teacher pay scale. You will work in a caring environment that values inclusion and collaboration with staff and families.

Qualifications

  • Hold QTS or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 2.
  • Flexible, organised and confident teaching across multiple year groups.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver well-planned, engaging lessons across Year 6.
  • Highlight topics that need intervention for individual students.
  • Work in a small group or 1:1 basis.
  • Maintain strong classroom routines and positive behaviour.
  • Support pupil progress during class teacher release time.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and support staff.
  • Uphold the school’s values of respect, ambition, and inclusion.
  • Ensure continuity and consistency in teaching and learning.
