Job summary

Connex Education is seeking a KS2 Classroom Teacher to cover across Years 3–6 in Birmingham (Handsworth). You will deliver lessons using prepared plans, adapt to pupil needs, and maintain engaging, inclusive learning environments.

DBS and QTS are essential, with responsibilities including safeguarding, recording and liaising with staff. This role offers a competitive daily rate and flexible working patterns through Connex Education’s network, with weekly PAYE and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

  • QTS is required for eligibility to teach in England, Scotland & Wales.
  • DBS update service or willingness to obtain one through Connex Education.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a primary school setting.

Responsibilities

Role: KS2 Classroom Teacher

Rate of pay: M2 - UPS3 Dependant on experience

Location: Birmingham, Handsworth

About the role

A KS2 Supply Teacher plays a key role in ensuring continuity of learning when the regular class teacher is absent. You will deliver lessons across Years 3–6, following prepared plans and resources, while adapting your teaching to suit the needs of different pupils and classroom environments. You will maintain a positive and well-managed classroom, using engaging teaching strategies to motivate children, support their learning, and encourage personal development. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential for keeping clear records, providing feedback, and liaising with school staff. You will also be responsible for safeguarding pupils, promoting a safe and inclusive environment, and responding to individual needs to ensure every child can thrive. This role requires flexibility, resilience, and enthusiasm, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ learning and school experience.

Role Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) confirming employability as a Teacher in England, Scotland & Wales
  • 2+ Years Experience working in a Primary School settings
  • DBS On the update service, or willingness to obtain one through Connex Education
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • A clear passion for working with children and fostering their educational growth
  • Commitment to the profession of working in Education
