Job summary

The Graduate Network is seeking a proactive KS1 Graduate Teaching Assistant to support Year 2 pupils with reading, writing and numeracy. This role offers a hands-on opportunity before teacher training in an outstanding primary setting in Hall Green.

You will deliver booster sessions, run 1:1 catch-up work, and guide small groups through phonics and arithmetic while note-taker progress for classroom planning. Immediate start until July 2027, £81–£101 per day.

Qualifications

• Degree – 2:2 or above in any subject.
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication.
• Enhanced DBS held or willingness to obtain.
• Desire to work in education/KS1 pupil progress.
• Experience working with children desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Boost reading, writing, and number in Year 2.
• Run short, purposeful boosters and 1:1 catch-up sessions.
• Guide small groups through phonics, spelling and arithmetic practice.
• Set up activities and break tasks into manageable steps.
• Note progress for next actions by the class teacher.
