Job summary

GUARDIAN SELECTION LIMITED is seeking a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant in Leicester to support pupils in Years 1 and 2. You will work with teachers to deliver engaging activities, assist with literacy and numeracy, and provide targeted help to children needing extra support.

This role offers full-time hours, temporary long-term contracts, and opportunities across several primary schools in Leicester. A caring, patient approach and safeguarding commitment are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or educational setting.
• Experience supporting Key Stage 1 pupils is desirable.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, positive and nurturing approach.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Support the development of early reading, writing and numeracy skills.
• Help pupils build confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
