Job summary

Holly Meadows School in Grimston is seeking a dedicated teaching assistant to support SEND pupils in Key Stage 1 from 4 January 2027. The role is part-time (30 hours per week) and runs term time plus one week, with a maternity leave cover through to 31 July 2027.

Candidate should have SEND experience, be NVQ2/TA qualified or progressing toward one, and demonstrate reliability, adaptability and a proactive approach within a caring school community.

Qualifications

• Has experience supporting pupils with SEND and an understanding of inclusion.
• Is qualified to at least NVQ2 or equivalent or in the process of achieving a relevant TA qualification
• Is flexible and able to intuitively adapt to the needs of children.
• Can use their initiative, is adaptable and resourceful.
• Strives for the best outcomes for all children, regardless of their barriers to learning.
• Has experience working with children in the primary school age range (4-11).
• Is reliable and well-organised.
• Can develop positive, professional relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
• Can use good interpersonal skills and show commitment to working within a caring and supportive team.
