Job summary

Pertemps Education Network has partnered with a welcoming primary school in Lambeth to recruit a KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant. You will support Years 1 and 2 pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and build essential skills.

The role is full-time, term-time, with 1:1 and small-group support, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies and foster an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting primary-aged children with SEN in KS1 or EYFS.
• Understanding of autism, ADHD or additional learning needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships and engage learners.
• Calm, consistent behaviour management and emotional support.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for inclusive education and pupil development.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for KS1 pupils with SEN.
• Support pupils with ASC, ADHD, and speech/communication needs.
• Help access KS1 curriculum including reading, writing, phonics and numeracy.
• Implement individual learning strategies per EHCPs.
• Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with class teacher, SENCO and support team.
• Maintain an inclusive, safe learning environment.
