Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Northampton to appoint an experienced Key Stage 1 SEN Teacher for a specialist ASD provision, caring for pupils aged 4-7. ASAP start, full-time, long-term role with potential permanence.

You will plan differentiated lessons, adapt strategies for autism, and maintain a calm, structured classroom while supporting pupils to meet individual targets with the help of the SEND team.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience working with children with SEND, ideally including ASD.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for KS1 ASD provision.
• Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support varied learning and sensory needs.
• Create a calm, structured, nurturing classroom environment.
• Support pupils in developing communication, social interaction, and independence.
• Set and work towards EHCP targets and monitor progress for planning.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and school staff to ensure consistency.
