About the School

Borrow Wood Primary School is a GOOD school with OUTSTANDING in Behaviour and Attitudes and Personal Development (Ofsted April 2023). It is part of the Odyssey Collaborative Trust, a local Derby City trust comprising 7 schools. In April 2025, the school opened an Enhanced Resource Facility (ERF) for children with complex communication and interaction needs, running alongside mainstream provision. The advertised role is in our mainstream school, with enhanced CPD opportunities to develop skills for working with children across the whole school.

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join Borrow Wood, especially with the opening of the ERF, our strong Ofsted profile, and collaborative team environment. We seek a dedicated, resilient, and knowledgeable teacher who can inspire learners to thrive and become confident, resourceful, and well-educated members of society.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Respond positively to feedback to continually improve skills, knowledge, and practice.
  2. Use diverse assessment sources to plan effective lessons across all National Curriculum subjects.
  3. Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of all children, including those with additional needs.
  4. Maintain effective classroom organisation and behaviour management to create a safe and motivating learning environment.
  5. Contribute positively to team efforts, sharing ideas and workload.
  6. Deliver lessons that enable children to make excellent progress and achieve their potential.
  7. Show flexibility and empathy in responding to changing needs.
