Job summary

TeacherActive is collaborating with primary schools across Newcastle to recruit reliable and enthusiastic Primary Teachers to support KS1 classes. This is a temporary role providing day-to-day teaching across Key Stage 1 with engaging lessons and a supportive classroom environment.

The successful candidate will hold QTS (ECTs welcomed), have UK KS1 experience, strong KS1 curriculum knowledge, excellent classroom management, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• QTS (ECTs welcomed) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience as a UK primary teacher in KS1.
• Solid knowledge of the KS1 Primary Curriculum.
• Excellent classroom management and behavior guidance.
• Strong communication with pupils, parents and staff.
• Adaptable and enthusiastic approach to varied school environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging KS1 lessons aligned to school planning.
• Follow provided planning and adapt as needed.
• Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom and ensure pupil progress.

This is a great opportunity for a Primary Teacher who enjoys working across different school environments and supporting pupils with their learning and development.

The schools are looking for a Primary Teacher to provide day‑to‑day support across Key Stage 1 / KS1. The successful Primary Teacher will be expected to deliver engaging lessons, follow school planning where provided and maintain a positive and well‑managed classroom environment.

The successful Primary Teacher will have:

• QTS (ECTs are also welcomed to apply)
• Primary teaching experience in the UK
• Sound knowledge of the KS1 Primary Curriculum
• Excellent classroom management
• Strong communication skills
• An adaptable and enthusiastic approach
