Job summary

Garston CE Primary School in Liverpool is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team across primary classes. You will work closely with teachers to support pupils’ learning and development in English and maths, contributing to an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.

Experience with children in a school setting and a commitment to high standards of pupil achievement, inclusion, and wellbeing are essential. A DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

• Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
• Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.

• Confidence supporting learning in English and maths.
• Flexibility, resilience, and a patient, positive attitude.
• Commitment to Garston CE Primary School and the Trust ethos.
• Full eligibility to work in the UK and the ability to undergo a full enhanced DBS check (visas cannot be sponsored).

Responsibilities

• Supporting the delivery of high-quality learning activities in English and maths for pupils in Key Stage 1 & 2.
• Providing tailored support for children with SEND, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
• Assisting with behaviour management and promoting positive behaviour across the classroom.
• Contributing to the overall wellbeing and pastoral support of pupils, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
