JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Teacher - Primary
REPORTS TO: Principal
Teachers’ (Terms and Conditions of Employment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1987
A teacher who is not a principal shall carry out professional duties as required, under the reasonable direction of the principal or the employing board, including any substitute or temporary roles.
Teachers shall perform duties reasonably assigned by the principal or the board, including planning, teaching, assessment, guidance, and participation in school meetings.
Providing assessments, reports, and references related to pupils, maintaining confidentiality as appropriate.
Preparing pupils for exams, assessing, recording, and supervising during examinations.
Supervising pupils in the absence of their teacher, with certain conditions based on school size and duration of absence.

Qualifications, experience in Key Stage 1 or 2, digital media skills, classroom management, teamwork, and understanding of curriculum and safeguarding policies.
Knowledge of the Northern Ireland Curriculum, assessment methods, and ability to lead specific curriculum areas like PE or outdoor learning.
