Job summary

Set2Recruit is seeking a mobile engineer to own Kotlin-based features for a UK SaaS platform serving trades and construction sector customers. You will design, implement, and maintain live mobile capabilities with a focus on reliability and performance.

Collaborating with product and engineering, you will shape the roadmap, write clean, well-tested code, integrate REST APIs, and plan releases for Android first with iOS exposure as the roadmap evolves.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience with Kotlin on mobile apps.
• Solid understanding of Android development and REST API integration.
• Experience working in a product engineering team (not just internal tooling).
• Strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.
• Willingness to pick up iOS development as needed.
• Experience in SaaS or B2B software products is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain features within a live Kotlin-based mobile product.
• Collaborate with product and engineering on roadmap and technical decisions.
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code as part of a wider codebase.
• Integrate the app with backend services and APIs.
• Debug, optimise, and improve performance across releases.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards.
• Work with product managers to translate customer needs into features.
• Manage app releases and version control as part of a team workflow.
• Stay current with mobile development best practice and tooling.
