Job summary

Set2Recruit is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a focused UK team. You will own core features on a PHP/Laravel platform, shipping end-to-end production systems and influencing architecture.

You will mentor juniors, work with the Head of Engineering to map the technical roadmap, and tackle production issues while collaborating with product and design. Remote work with quarterly office visits in the Devon/Torbay region.

Qualifications

• Proven track record owning production systems end to end.
• Senior level software engineering experience in PHP or another modern backend.
• Comfortable with PHP/Laravel or quick adaptation from another stack.
• Strong relational database and query optimisation skills.
• Excellent communication with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and maintaining features across the core PHP/Laravel platform.
• Shaping technical roadmap and priorities with the Head of Engineering.
• Writing clean, tested code and reviewing peers' work.
• Diagnosing and resolving production issues across the platform.
• Contributing to architectural decisions as the platform grows.
