  • Lead and deliver innovation initiatives within the Property Department.
  • Define and deliver the Property Lawyer toolkit 2031 with digitisation of data and AI considerations.

Our Client Solutions & Innovation Strategy builds on the success of our strategic business partnering with our Department Heads to drive positive change in how we deliver our legal services and offer increased value to our clients.

We recognise that knowledge fuels innovation with expert practitioner input essential in redefining how lawyers work in practice. This role works at the intersection of knowledge, innovation and technology drawing on the diverse talent within our multi-disciplinary Client Solutions & Innovation department and across the firm.

The role

This role combines excellent legal technical knowledge, commercial nous and gravitas, with the ability to re-imagine how legal services are delivered to clients based on best practice, shared expertise and use of new technologies. Bevan Brittan continues to invest considerably in online resources and legal technologies and this role plays a vital part in ensuring that return on investment in these resources is fully utilised. Fundamental to this role is also the ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders,

You will contribute to and help the CSI Director and Knowledge & Innovation Partner to formulate and deliver the Property Department's knowledge & innovation plan with your main focus being on:

  • Innovation - working collaboratively with the broader CSI department colleagues to lead and deliver innovation initiatives and projects within your department providing a senior resource attuned to practitioners and able to deliver sustainable change;
  • Legal technology - working closely with CSI colleagues to define the "Property Lawyer toolkit 2031" reflecting the continuing digitisation of property data and transactions, including leading on the property elements of our responsible approach to generative AI;
  • Knowledge products - working collaboratively with the Senior Knowledge Business Partner and Research Manager to identify opportunities to solve complex problems for clients, whether managing legal risks due to the complex and changing legal environment and/or translating horizon scanning into actionable intelligence for via online platforms/subscription products
What we're looking for from you
  • Experience working on service delivery projects within real estate context combining knowledge, innovation and technology to drive client value and the right outcomes for the business;
  • Significant legal experience working as a lawyer in practice or in-house with +8 yrs post-qualification experience in general property transactional work and a good awareness to support property litigation and planning;
  • Experience in promoting knowledge sharing activities bringing together people, processes and technology to deliver sustained improvements in working effectively;
  • Excellent practical knowledge and experience of market-leading legal online resources such as Practical Law and LexisPSL supported by and working closely with the Online Resources Manager;
  • Commercially oriented with good business acumen;
  • A real interest in legal technology and ability to identify the art of the possible with passion and persistence to effect change;
  • A good understanding and proficiency in understanding technical concepts and legal process improvement;
  • Skills in process mapping and appreciation of legal design techniques;
  • Good appreciation of project and change management techniques and good practice and demonstrable ability to deliver change;
  • Ability to interpret and visualise data.
