Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust invites applicants for a six-month post-FRCS Knee Arthroplasty Fellowship at its high-volume joint replacement centre at Wansbeck General Hospital, Ashington. Starting February 2027, the fellowship offers extensive exposure to primary and revision knee arthroplasty in a department renowned for clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent is required for the fellowship.
• MRCS membership is essential for surgical training continuation.
• Eligible for full GMC registration is mandatory to practice in the UK.
• FRCS (T&O) or equivalent is required for fellowship eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Undertake outpatient clinics and theatre sessions as part of a structured programme.
• Develop independent operating lists when competence is demonstrated.
• Contribute to audit, teaching and quality improvement projects.
• Lead a clinical improvement project and participate in on-call rota.
