Salisbury Arms on Tenison Road invites applications for a Kitchen Team Leader to drive standards in food safety, hygiene, and delivery. You will mentor junior staff, assist in menu development, and work with the Kitchen Manager to optimise rotas and labour control.

We’re looking for a proactive, organized professional with strong allergen knowledge and a passion for great food in a welcoming pub setting in Cambridge.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy kitchen environment
• Calm, methodical and organized under pressure
• Proactive, positive attitude towards tasks and challenges
• Strong planning and organisation abilities
• Lead by example in hygiene and appearance
• Able to give and receive constructive feedback

Responsibilities

• Accountable for food safety and hygiene across kitchen areas
• Train and coach junior kitchen staff; ensure proper storage, rotation and disposal of food
• Work with Kitchen Manager to develop food offer per menu guidelines
• Support Kitchen Manager in recruitment and creating staff rotas
• Extensive knowledge of key food allergens
• Help maximise sales and gross profit by reducing labour and stock losses
• Support new menu launches and cook-offs
• Aim to achieve food margin through portion control and ingredients management
• Stock shelves and ensure correct temperatures and rotation
• Ensure all health & safety directives are followed in food preparation
