Job summary

Hotel Co 51 is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to help keep the kitchen clean and organised so the team can work efficiently. You will help with cleaning, waste disposal, storage, deliveries, dishwashing, and basic food prep to support the kitchen staff.

No previous kitchen experience is required; a friendly personality and can-do attitude are valued as you learn the routines and food-safety basics in a hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen work is not required.
• A can-do attitude and great personality.
• Willingness to learn and follow basic food safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sterilising countertops, kitchen walls, ovens, grills and sinks.
• Cleaning the entire kitchen once it is closed to prepare for the next day.
• Maintaining food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators.
• Receiving deliveries and organising them in the kitchen.
• Washing dirty dishes and loading the dishwasher as needed.
• Removing kitchen waste and disposing of it properly.
• Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment.
• Supporting the team in basic food preparation and cooking.
• Providing assistance to the team as needed.
