Job summary

The Liberty Bounds in London is hiring a Kitchen shift manager to support the kitchen and pub management, lead shifts and drive operations to meet sales, profit and compliance targets. You will run shifts, train staff, and ensure high standards of service and safety.

Qualifications

• Can-do attitude and willingness to work hard.
• Experience running shifts in hospitality or kitchen operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards in cleanliness, product quality, customer service, maintenance and atmosphere.
• Comply with SOPs and company policies; when trained, cash handling and admin tasks.
• Prioritise tasks, delegate and solve problems.
• Work across shifts including front of house.
• Achieve financial targets by building sales and controlling costs.
• Forecast sales and costs with the kitchen manager; manage P&L and maximise sales opportunities.

Vacancy Description

A kitchen shift manager supports the kitchen manager and pub manager and takes responsibility for the kitchen operation. This includes supporting, leading and motivating the team to meet sales, profit and compliance targets.

As a kitchen shift manager, you will run shifts and work unsupervised to achieve the following daily:

• excellent customer service
• serving food to the correct specification, while achieving food-delivery-time targets at all times
• adhering to all Wetherspoon standard operating procedures (SOPs) and company policies, to maintain a clean, safe and legal workplace

The Role

• delivering high standards in all areas: cleanliness, product quality, customer service, maintenance and atmosphere
• complying with company operating standards and legislation, dealing with customers, administration and, once trained, cash management
• prioritising tasks, delegating and problem-solving
• working on a variety of shifts across the week (including front of house)
• taking responsibility in achieving all financial targets set for the kitchen, by taking proactive steps to build sales and control costs
• working with the kitchen manager to:
• forecast sales and associated costs
• review and manage all aspects of the profit and loss account
• maximise sales opportunities
