Responsibilities

Job description

Here at Brockenhurst College, we are looking to recruit aKitchen Production Lead on a full time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £33,367 - £44,365 pro rata per annum. (Unqualified teachers £26,436 to £33,367 pro rata per annum.)

We are a high-achieving college who attract around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.


The Kitchen Production Lead Role:

To deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across Levels 1 to 3 Hospitality, Catering and Professional Cookery programmes, enabling students to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for progression into employment, apprenticeships and further study.

The Kitchen Production Lead acts as the department's specialist lead for kitchen production, culinary operations and commercial catering activities. The postholder will ensure that practical learning environments operate efficiently, safely and to current industry standards, supporting high-quality student experiences and positive outcomes.

Responsibilities as our Kitchen Production Lead will include:
  • Deliver ambitious, inspiring and stimulating teaching and learning across courses in the suite of qualifications in the curriculum area
  • Model current industry practice within practical delivery environments to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Alongside the Curriculum Leader and Co-ordinator, ensure that all internal college-related quality processes and procedures, are effectively undertaken in line with college requirements
  • Ensure that student progress is tracked effectively
  • Develop and facilitate meaningful enrichment opportunities for students on the courses delivered, including leading or supporting educational visits
  • Support colleagues in maintaining consistent culinary standards, food production methods and operational practice across practical delivery.
  • Lead the ordering, receipt and storage of food commodities, consumables and kitchen resources.
