Turn Your Passion for Catering into a Regional Centre of Excellence

Are you an experienced culinary professional and educatorready to make your mark?

At the College, they are looking for an inspiring, innovative Curriculum Team Leader to take the reins of their Catering & Hospitality department. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of culinary education in their region - leading an established team, building industry partnerships, and turning their department into a premier Centre of Excellence.

Whether you’re stepping up in your educational leadership career or looking for a high-impact role where your industry knowledge directly shapes young talent, they want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

As Curriculum Team Leader, you’ll balance hands‑on teaching with team leadership, bridging classroom learning, work‑based apprenticeships, and commercial operations.

  • Lead & Inspire: Guide, support, and mentor a team of Lecturers, Technicians, and Onsite Assessors.
  • Teach & Deliver: Deliver approx. 828 teaching hours per year across all qualification levels (including preparation, marking, and learner target‑setting).
  • Manage & Measure: Oversee course performance, student attendance, retention, and achievement alongside your Curriculum Manager.
  • Bridge industry & Classrooms: Leverage your commercial contacts to shape a modern curriculum and secure high‑value work placement opportunities for students.
  • Run Commercial Learning: Oversee real‑world training environments that prepare students for modern industry standards.

You won't be doing this alone. You’ll join a supportive, forward‑thinking team of education professionals dedicated to high‑quality practical and digital learning. You'll also receive continuous professional development support and a competitive benefits package.

Who They’re Looking For?

They are seeking a collaborative leader who combines strong culinary credentials with exceptional teaching standards:

  • Industry Expertise: A solid background in Catering & Hospitality, plus hands‑on experience running a commercial environment.
  • Teaching & Assessment: Proven experience teaching, assessing, and verifying across various qualification levels. A formal teaching qualification is required (an Assessor’s Award is ideal!) as well as a vocationally relevant qualification at Level 3 or above.
  • Leadership Experience: A track record of working in an educational setting, driving high‑quality learning outcomes, and motivating a team.
  • Networker & Innovator: Ability to collaborate with local industry professionals to keep their study programmes relevant, exciting, and career‑focused.

You will be able to lead your team successfully, working collaboratively with colleagues in this area and across other subjects. You will have good contacts with industry professionals and can work with them effectively to shape their future curriculum as well as providing excellent opportunities for their students to gain first‑hand experience in this area.

Department Info

Your line manager will be the Curriculum Manager and you will regularly report on your objectives to update them on a range of KPI’s including (but not limited to) student recruitment, retention, anticipated achievement, attendance and punctuality.

You will also liaise with all staff that teach on your programme(s), monitoring performance indicators and provide day to day leadership, guidance and support to Lecturers & Programme Leaders in your teams through informal methods and regular team meetings.

Their excellent benefits and rewards package:
  • Access to teachers pensions scheme
  • Up to 50 days annual leave per year including closure during Christmas period
  • Access to their gyms, restaurants and salons
