Job summary

Clifton High School is seeking a kitchen porter to support the catering team. The role focuses on pot washing with additional tasks to assist the Chef and FOH team.

Shifts run Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 15:00, with 15–20 hours per week, starting as a temporary role with a view to permanent employment after seven weeks. Even when schools are closed, opportunities may arise for extra shifts through the agency.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Commitment to high hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Communicating with the kitchen team and front of house colleagues to ensure smooth delivery.
• Ensuring all cutlery, crockery and glassware is professionally cleaned before and after use and all service areas are kept clean, tidy and safe.
• Cleaning of all cooking utensils as required by the culinary team during preparation and service times.
• Cleaning of kitchen work areas during and after use and removal of kitchen waste to the appropriate area.
• Assisting with the set up and clear down of your area, ready for the next service.
• Exceptional standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
• Operating cleaning machinery as trained in accordance with policy.
• Comply with Health & Safety, Hygiene, Manual Handling and COSHH policies.
• Wears PPE as required.
• Enjoy your work, be polite, prompt and friendly.

Position Overview

At the heart of our operation, our Kitchen porters are pivotal in contributing to the delivery of exceptional culinary experiences. We are looking for individuals who share our energy and passion and who embody a 'can-do' mindset. Is this you?

Working Hours

Shift pattern is Monday to Friday 11am - 3pm. The role will start at 15 - 20hrs per week. The role will be mainly pot wash however you may also be required to assist the Chef and/or the FOH team.

This role is a temp to perm offer, you will be working the above shift pattern for the next 7 weeks until Christmas, you will follow the school pattern - working when schools are on and off when they are off !! Yay to Summer!!

Although the schools may be off, you can pick up other shifts through constellation to keep yourself busy.

Being polite, prompt and friendly to all colleagues and guests.
