Job summary

Thomas Franks is seeking a Kitchen Porter for our Tonbridge site in Kent. The role involves maintaining hygiene, supporting chefs, and ensuring cleanliness to meet high standards expected at our independent contract catering location.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £16,253.40. Benefits include meals on duty, pension, and ongoing development opportunities within a leading catering group.

Qualifications

• Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Organisation Skills.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred

Responsibilities

• Keep kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to high standards of cleanliness.
• Help the Chefs with some food prep.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times.
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment.
• Operate industrial dishwasher.
• Assist with pot wash duties

Hours: 40h per week

A stunning independent prep school in Tonbridge, Kent for girls and boys aged 2-13. Catering for about 700 students and teachers daily, we offer a core feeding of Snacks and Lunch with lots of great hospitality and events. This location operates Monday to Friday; 41.2 weeks including holidays.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Tonbridge.

You’ll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
• Great team player
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
• Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.
• Operate industrial dishwasher
