Job summary

LGH Hotels Management is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to join the Holiday Inn Cambridge kitchen team. You will help keep the kitchen clean, support chefs with prep, and assist with setup and service to ensure high standards of hygiene and efficiency.

In this role you will work behind the scenes to support food quality, safety and service flow, joining a team that values reliability, cooperation and respect.

Qualifications

• Experienced working in fast-paced kitchen environments.
• Committed to high cleanliness and organisation.
• Willing to learn and support chefs with preparation and setup.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment thoroughly and efficiently.
• Keep all kitchen areas clean, tidy and organised throughout the shift.
• Sweep and mop floors and manage waste and recycling responsibly.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling and chopping vegetables.
• Receive, check and store deliveries of food and kitchen supplies correctly.
• Support kitchen set‑up and close‑down procedures.
• Clean cooking equipment and work surfaces to hygiene standards.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety guidelines at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support smooth service.
• Report any maintenance, hygiene or health & safety concerns promptly.
