Job summary

Sodexo Ltd. is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter in Slough to support chefs and keep the kitchen clean, safe and well organised. You’ll work in a busy environment, following hygiene standards and helping with basic prep as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen, catering, cleaning or hospitality is desirable but not essential.
• Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Able to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitise dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Keep kitchen areas, floors and surfaces clean and organised.
• Support chefs with basic food preparation when required.
• Manage rubbish and food waste correctly.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment.
• Assist with deliveries and stock storage.
• Maintain fridges, freezers and dry storage areas.

We are looking for a

reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team.

As a Kitchen Porter, you will play an important role in supporting the chefs and wider kitchen team, helping to maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

What you'll do:

• Washing and sanitising dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Keeping kitchen areas, floors, work surfaces and storage areas clean and organised
• Supporting chefs with basic food preparation when required
• Managing rubbish and food waste correctly
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment
• Assisting with deliveries, including moving and storing supplies
• Keeping fridges, freezers and dry-storage areas clean and organised
• Replenishing cleaning materials and kitchen supplies
• Following food hygiene, health and safety and COSHH procedures
• Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods
• Reporting any equipment, maintenance or health and safety issues to the manager
• Carrying out other reasonable duties as required by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager

What you'll bring:

• Previous kitchen, catering, cleaning or hospitality experience is desirable but not essential
• Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Able to follow instructions and work independently when required
• Positive attitude and willingness to support the wider kitchen team
