Job summary

Sodexo in Slough is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team on a part-time basis. The role supports the chefs, keeps the kitchen clean and safe, and helps with deliveries and stock as required.

You'll work 26 hours per week across 9:00am-3:30pm, with £12.71 per hour and access to Sodexo's employee benefits package and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, catering, cleaning or hospitality experience is desirable but not essential.
• Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to follow instructions and work independently when required.
• Positive attitude and willingness to support the wider kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Washing and sanitising dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Keeping kitchen areas, floors, work surfaces and storage areas clean and organised.
• Supporting chefs with basic food preparation when required.
• Managing rubbish and food waste correctly.
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment.
• Assisting with deliveries, including moving and storing supplies.
• Keeping fridges, freezers and dry-storage areas clean and organised.
• Replenishing cleaning materials and kitchen supplies.
• Following food hygiene, health and safety and COSHH procedures.
• Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Reporting any equipment, maintenance or health and safety issues to the manager.
• Carrying out other reasonable duties as required by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
