Job summary

Accent Catering Services Ltd is seeking a Kitchen Porter for our school site in Redhill, Surrey. This casual role starts term-time only: 20 hours per week, 9:30am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, at £12.71 per hour.

You will report to the Chef Manager, wash pots and dishes using a mechanical dishwasher, help with deliveries and stock, maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene, and contribute to a supportive, friendly team environment. DBS disclosure is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen environment preferred.
• DBS disclosure is required for this role.
• Term-time only shift pattern and part-time hours are stated in the job description.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers in a friendly, professional manner.
• Wash up using a mechanical dishwasher and sinks.
• Put away deliveries with good stock practices.
• Carry out pot washing and dish cleaning.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area.
• Undertake basic training and work well with the team.

As our ideal Kitchen Porter you will:

• Have good communication skills at all levels
• Using a mechanical dishwasher and sinks to wash up.
• Putting away delivery’s with good stock practice
• Carry out pot washing and dish cleaning
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area
• Undertaking all basic training and work effectively with colleagues as part of a team
• Speaking to each customer and team member in a friendly, helpful and professional manner

The ideal candidate will also have the flexibility to work overtime as required.
