Job summary

Accor is seeking a full-time Kitchen Porter at Novotel London Blackfriars. You must be fully flexible, available to work weekdays, mornings, evenings and weekends as required. Duties include keeping kitchens clean, handling equipment and chemicals, and supporting cost control through energy conservation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all kitchens are kept clean and tidy according to Health & Hygiene regulations
• Count, sort and prepare operating equipment
• Ensure correct handling of chemicals and equipment
• Hygienically clean and store crockery, cutlery and glassware
• Follow cleaning rosters and deep clean floors, walls, coolers, ovens and equipment
• Conserve energy and water and manage cleaning materials effectively
• Collect and dispose of rubbish from kitchen areas
• Use safe methods for removal of dry and wet waste
• Perform additional requests by supervisor or hotel management
• Receive, check and store deliveries
• Clean staff canteen and loading bay
• Participate in safe work practices and report hazards
• Know fire, evacuation and emergency procedures
• Report accidents/incidents and support rehabilitation
• Wear protective clothing and equipment
• Participate in Accor hotel environmental initiatives
• Report damaged equipment to supervisor
• Follow training standards and hotel procedures
• Attend training and meetings to improve skills
• Follow Accor employee handbooks and fact-sheets

Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Kitchen Porter to join our team at MAM London, Novotel London Blackfriars. Candidates must be fully flexible and available to work weekdays, mornings, evenings and weekends as required.

Duties

• Ensure all kitchens are kept clean and tidy according to current Health & Hygiene regulations
• To count, sort and prepare operating equipment as required
• Ensure correct handling of chemicals and equipment as per manufacturer’s instructions
• Ensure all operating equipment, crockery, cutlery & glassware is hygienically cleaned and safely stored
• Follow the regular cleaning rosters and standard methods for deep cleaning of floors, walls, coolers, oven’s & operating equipment
• To contribute to cost control through energy conservation and the careful use of water, cleaning materials and other appliances
• Ensure rubbishis collected and disposed of correctly from all kitchen areas each shift
• Utilise safe and hygienic methods for the removal of dry and wet waste
• Any other reasonable request as required by your Supervisor or Hotel Management
• Receiving, checking and storing deliveries of goods
• Cleaning of staff canteen and loading bay

Health & Safety

• Actively participate in safe work practices and procedures in the workplace, use equipment safely
• Fully understand departmental fire, evacuation and emergency procedures
• Report/ record all accidents/incidents on the appropriate workplace register and support injured employee rehabilitation
• Report any health or safety hazards to your Supervisor
• Wear protective clothing and equipment provided, including industry approved footwear and head covering
• Actively participate in Accor hotel environmental initiatives
• Report all broken or damaged equipment to a Supervisor

General Duties

• Follow the standards and performance outlined during training and in the departmental service procedures manual. Complete all tasks within the shift to these standards.
• Attend training programmes and meetings as directed to constantly improve skills and knowledge.
• Follow the expectations and guidelines in the Accor Employee Handbooks/Hotel Fact-sheets
