Job summary

Whitehall Garden Centre is looking for a Kitchen Porter at our Lacock branch to join a friendly, family-run team. The role supports the busy kitchen by managing washing, cleaning and storage areas with attention to hygiene and safety.

You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, communicate well with staff, and help maintain stock control while respecting cleaning schedules. This full-time position runs four days a week with alternate weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced kitchen environments is advantageous.
• Clear communication and team participation are valued.
• Ability to follow cleaning schedules and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Running the plate wash
• General kitchen cleaning
• Maintaining cooking and storage areas in a clean and tidy state in line with cleaning schedules
• Carry out duties as requested by management
• Control loss or damage to stock through due care and attention

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of an inspirational team as a Kitchen Porter at our Lacock branch.

The ideal candidates will ideally have a passion for being part of a successful team, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and great motivation are essential.

This is a full time position working 4 days in the week and alternative weekends.

Kitchen Porter duties

• Running the plate wash
• General kitchen cleaning
• Maintaining cooking and storage areas in a clean and tidy state in line with cleaning schedules
• Carry out all reasonable duties as requested by management as and when required
• Control loss or damage to stock through due care and attention
