Job summary

BaxterStorey at Heathrow Airport is seeking a capable Kitchen Assistant to support busy kitchen operations. You will wash dishes, help with food preparation, keep surfaces clean, and assist chefs when needed.

We value reliability, teamwork, and a proactive approach. No formal education required, but a positive attitude, physical stamina, and attention to detail will help you thrive.

Qualifications

• No formal education is required; a high school diploma or equivalent may be preferred.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing and cleaning kitchen equipment.
• Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces and waste disposal.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks.

Job description

• Dishwashing - Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen Cleanliness - Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
• Food Preparation - Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
• Inventory Management - Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and safety - maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order, We work together as a team to lead by example, protecting the planet and supporting local communities.
• No formal education is required, but a high school diploma or equivalent may be preferred
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus

As this role is based at Heathrow Airport, you will be required to complete mandatory pre-employment checks. These include providing 5 years of verifiable employment history, undergoing a UK DBS check, and, if you have lived outside the UK for more than 6 months, obtaining an overseas Police Clearance Certificate from the relevant UK-based embassy. Applicants must have the unrestricted right to work full time in the UK for the duration of the role.
