Job summary

Ottolenghi Islington is seeking a hands-on kitchen porter to join our vibrant kitchen team. You’ll wash, clean, and sanitise equipment, maintain hygiene, assist with food prep, and help with receiving deliveries. You’ll rotate stock, manage waste, and ensure readiness for service in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Comfortable with keeping records and using basic IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, and sanitise all kitchen equipment, crockery, cutlery, and surfaces.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen at all times.
• Support the kitchen team with food preparation tasks as directed.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating deliveries correctly.
• Empty and manage waste correctly and in line with sustainability practices.
• Ensure equipment is clean and ready for service at all times.
• Report any maintenance issues to the relevant supervisor.

What you’ll do
