Job summary

Lexington-Catering in Greater London is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support daily kitchen operations from 07:00 to 15:30, Monday to Friday. You will help keep the kitchen clean, stocked, and compliant with food safety regulations while assisting chefs and handling basic food prep when required.

Strong communication, a customer-service mindset, and a team approach are essential. Catering experience is required to join our front-line team serving customers and clients and maintaining smooth

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of menu and offers to provide accurate information to customers and clients.
• Keep kitchen area clean, well presented, and well-stocked.
• Assist chefs and support simple food prep when required.
• Ensure smooth operation of relevant kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues.
• Operate the till as required and adhere to procedures.
• Adhere to COSHH, Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations and report incidents.

What you'll be serving up...

As a Kitchen Porter you will have plenty of responsibility and opportunity to grow in your role, becoming a critical member of our team.

• Ensure thorough and up to date knowledge and understanding of menu and special offers in order to provide relevant information to customers and clients
• Ensure the kitchen area is always clean, well presented and well-stocked
• Support the Chef(s), making sure the kitchen environment is to high standards with ad hoc duties in simple food prep from time to time
• Be responsible for smooth operation of relevant equipment reporting any maintenance issues in line with procedures
• Operate the till point as required, ensuring correct procedures are used
• Ensure that COSHH, Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations are adhered to and any incidents are reported in line with procedures
