Job summary

Budock Vean Hotel is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the smooth running of our kitchen production areas, washing dishes manually and in the dishwasher, and assisting with basic food preparation if needed.

You’ll work in a busy, guest-focused environment, maintaining HACCP standards and a clean, organized work area while contributing to a friendly, efficient team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy kitchen is beneficial.
• Washes dishes manually and with a dishwasher.
• Maintains HACCP and health & safety standards.
• Reliable, punctual, with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen production areas.
• Washing dishes manually and also by using the dishwasher.
• Assisting in basic food preparation if needed
• Cleaning pots, pans and other kitchen utensils.
• Maintain the kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCP regulations.
• Storing away all crockery, cutlery and glassware.
• Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor.
• Emptying bins when they are full.
• Reporting any fault equipment to the kitchen manager or chef and arranging repair.
• Keeping breakages to a minimum and following daily cleaning rotas.
• Taking dirty linen and cloths from the kitchen to the hotel laundry.
• Assisting in other areas of the hotel when required and communicating with all departments.
• Understand Fire Procedures, Health and Safety, COSHH, Infection Control and Emergency Aid.
