Job summary

Devon Hotel in Exeter is seeking a Kitchen Porter on a part-time basis. You’ll be a vital member of a busy kitchen, handling washing, cleaning and basic food prep to support the chefs and service for carvery events.

We value reliability, attention to detail and a positive team mindset. The role offers flexible shifts and onsite parking, with ongoing opportunities to gain qualifications and develop in hospitality.

Hourly rate and hours per week: 30 Hours a week / £8.00 - £12.71 an Hour

What You'll Be Doing

While this role involves a lot more than just washing dishes, it's a critical position that sets the entire kitchen up for success. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from supporting our team of expert chefs to ensuring the kitchen is spotless. Your day-to-day will include:

• Deep cleaning the kitchen and equipment to maintain our high standards of hygiene.
• Washing dishes, utensils, and other kitchen items, ensuring a steady supply for the chefs.
• Assisting with food preparation, from basic tasks to helping with our popular carvery and large-scale events.
• Monitoring stock levels and taking ownership of keeping the storerooms clean and organized.
• Completing coursework to gain qualifications and further your career in the culinary arts.

We're looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, and has a keen eye for detail. You should be a team player who can also work independently in a fast-paced environment. A genuine passion for food and a desire to learn are a huge plus
